Every homeowner wants a kitchen that feels both beautiful and easy to live in. Getting both at once is harder than it looks. That’s why we’re proud to share some news: our Wyckoff kitchen remodel was named the September 2026 WOW Kitchen Contest Winner by Covered Bridge Cabinetry, earning Mudosi recognition for award-winning kitchen design in NJ.

Covered Bridge runs the WOW Kitchen Contest each month for its dealers across the country. Winners are judged on the merit of the finished kitchen. This month, the spotlight landed on a project designed by Dilay Anlas, and built by the Mudosi team out of our Parsippany showroom.

Below, we walk through what made this kitchen stand out, and what you can borrow for your own remodel.

About the Award-Winning Kitchen Design

The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt warm without feeling dark, and open enough for family dinners and entertaining. They also wanted storage that didn’t clutter the room.

Our answer was a two-tone design built around in the Regal door style, a clean shaker profile:

  • Uppers and tall pantry: Pale Oak painted finish on Maple — soft, bright and airy
  • Base cabinets and island: Sable stain on Walnut — deep, rich and warm
  • Hardware: Matte black bar pulls that tie the two tones together

In Covered Bridge’s own words, the stain-and-paint pairing adds depth and character while keeping the look cohesive.

Design Details That Won Over the Judges

The contest announcement called out several features. Each one solves an everyday problem.

  1. Custom refrigerator panels. The fridge panels match the pantry doors, so the wall reads as one piece of furniture.
  2. Integrated appliance panels. The wine fridge, dishwasher and refrigerator all wear cabinet panels for a built-in look.
  3. Custom wood hood. A painted wood hood anchors the range wall with architectural presence.
  4. Hidden appliance garage. A one-piece stacked cabinet hides the coffee maker and small appliances behind doors.
  5. A drawer-heavy island. Deep drawers replace most base doors, so pots and dishes are easy to reach.

Taj Mahal Quartzite: The Stone That Ties It Together

We paired the cabinetry with in Taj Mahal, a natural stone with a creamy white background and soft gold veining. The island uses a waterfall edge on both ends, and the stone continues up the wall as a full-height backsplash.

Quartzite is harder than marble and handles daily cooking well. Its warm undertones also bridge the light uppers and dark Walnut base.

The finishing layer is simple: matte black cone pendants, matching wall sconces, under-cabinet lighting and light oak hardwood floors.

How to Get the Look in Your New Jersey Kitchen

You don’t need to copy this kitchen line for line. These ideas work in most NJ homes:

  • Go two-tone. Use a light finish up high and a wood stain down low. The room stays bright, and the base hides wear.
  • Panel your appliances. Panel-ready appliances make even a small kitchen feel calmer.
  • Choose drawers over doors. Drawers make lower storage far easier to use, especially in an island.
  • Plan a landing zone for small appliances. An appliance garage keeps counters clear.
  • Let one material repeat. Running the countertop stone up the backsplash creates a calm, finished look.
